The fine folks at the mythical college football HQ — inventors of the Mythical National Championship — would like to remind you that, regardless what you may happen to read in your local newspaper (bias! bias, I tell you!) or hear on your local sports radio show, the college football bowl season is wholly owned by the Pac 10 Conference.

By posting a perfect 5-0 record in the bowls, the Pac10 has solidified the undisputed crown as “conference champion”. Not only did the Pac 10 go undefeated in the bowls, but they beat four ranked teams… and four BCS conference opponents.

Arizona, who finished fifth in the Pac10, knocked off 17th-ranked BYU 31-21 in the Las Vegas Bowl, to finish the season 8-5.

Cal – your fourth place Pac 10 team – beat BCS opponent Miami 24-17 in the Emerald Bowl, taking the Bears to 9-4 on the season.

#15 Oregon, the Pac 10′s co-runner up this season, finished 10-3 after marching out of the Holiday Bowl with an “upset” win #13 Oklahoma State… 42-31.

#24 Oregon State, the other co-runner up in the Pac 10, finished the year 9-4 after a 3-0 “upset” win over #18 Pitt in the Sun Bowl.

The Pac10 may not be ranked #1 in the Sagarin ratings. That would be the ACC.

It may not have the most teams ranked in the BCS top ten. That would be the Big XII.

The Pac 10 didn’t lead the way with the most top-ten defenses. That would be the SEC.

But no one else can say they went undefeated in the bowl games.

No one else can say they won 100%. No one else can say they “batted 1.000″.

No one else can say they proved it on the field.
